Super simple, paleo and gluten-free friendly turkey burgers that can be eaten with or without a bun, and can be made in a pinch.
I put them in the freezer while I heat the grill, because I read somewhere it helps keep the burgers together and lock in the flavor, but you don’t have to do it if you are pressed for time.
This is also an easy burger that you can make for a mixed group of eaters, and modify how you serve it to be paleo, gluten free or just regular on a bun with all the fixings!
I made this for my dad, who is against turkey burgers, and dressed it like a regular burger – lettuce, tomato, cheese and ketchup – and he loved it, even saying he would have it again. You don’t know my dad, but that’s saying a lot.
Easy Turkey Burgers
1 pound ground white turkey
2 heaping tablespoons parsley
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
What I did….
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Using your hands, mix and mash it together, making sure all the seasonings are well distributed.
Form them into four patties, and place on a sheet of wax paper.
(Optional ~ stick in the freezer while your heating the grill)
Place patties on the grill, and cook on medium heat until they are not pink in the center and the juice is coming out clear.
For paleo eaters, serve on a bed of lettuce large enough that it can be wrapped and top with appropriate toppings. (I like mustard and tomato!)
